Vasko Nasonov

Impulses Gravity Rebounce Flow

Vasko offers a highly physical contemporary dance class. He proposes unusual body connections for entering and exiting the floor, getting inspired from a range of different dance forms and their biomechanics, e.g. Capoeira, Breaking and Acrobatics. Whatever the movement, Vasko challenges the viewer to find its beginning or ending (can you see it?!) His strong focus on flow and fluidity allow for intriguing combinations, no matter which dance vocabulary he employs.

The Crossing

Moving through space, ever flowing, never stopping.
Alone, in pairs, the entire group;
mirror, opposition, contrast;
scores, tasks, shapes, functionalities;
isolation, integration, improvisation.

A feeling of flow, a glimpse of infinity, a sense of belonging.
A collection of ideas, principles, skills; densified into the compact format of an evolving training session. Inspiration for a movement training that does not restrict itself to the familiar, input for a continuous practice, a productive kick into one’s mental buttocks.
