ABOUT

DO Festival is a new contemporary dance festival.
Three weeks of dance workshops and classes led by experienced international teachers.
In 2022 DO Festival will have two groups: Dance Open and Dance Officers.

Dance Open

Dance Open wishes to address movers and dancers that see dance as their hobby and free-time activity, dancers who want to return to the training after a time of absence and people who would like to broaden their dance experience in a fun and challenging way.

Dance Officers

Dance Officers on the other hand wishes to speak to all movers and dancers who are advanced free-time movers or currently in a professional dance formation, movers who have graduated from a dance formation or people who see dance as their profession: teachers, performers, creators. The class will have a higher pace, skip the introduction of certain basic elements and wants to feed you with input and ideas for your personal work & training.

It is our honest wish to provide active dance professionals with high level contemporary dance classes, giving new inputs for personal practices and offering insights to the broad variety of physical contemporary dance styles.

The second edition of DO Festival will happen from 8th until 26th of August, 2022. It will be hosted in the charming facilities of Zakład Kulturalny, which lies in Gdańsk, Poland, by the shores of the Baltic Sea.

Paulina

Paulina Będkowska

Paulina is a young artist focused around the field of contemporary dance. She imagines a perfect world with only 3 colours and soon will need a pair of glasses from writing too many applications. She is a member of Collective Nest, where she develops some important life skills, for example how to pay taxes, how to not pay taxes, how

to sell your soul and how to screw the system.
Paulina is in charge of the Festival's visual appearance. This includes the conception, creation and implementation of all graphic and motion content. Paulina also looks after the communication with festival participants

Zakład Kulturalny is a place for creative work, a host for practicioners from all artistic backgrounds. Fine arts, music, sports, performing arts, events and many more activities can be realized here. No matter your interest, Zakład Kulturalny offers a space for exploration, practice, exchange.

Zakład Kulturalny is located in Gdansk, Poland. Sitting by the polish coastline of the  Baltic Sea it has plenty of cultural content to offer. Together with Gdynia and Sopot, Gdansk forms the Tricity, one of the main metropolitan areas in Poland. A rich history, calm beaches and a high density of cultural activities make it a place worth discovering.
With ferries to Scandinavia, one international airport, direct trains to Berlin, Warsaw & most major cities in Poland and a network of busses reaching almost all corners of Europe, we dare say that Gdansk is easy to reach.

SUSTAINABILITY

Everybody is busy mentioning Sustainability in their Portfolio. It's about time, we say!

Incorporating the idea of circular economy we offer DO Festival apparel that goes like this: We select and buy 2nd hand t-shirts, then we silk-screen print our logo with water-based colors onto those t-shirts and bring them to the festival.  Voilà!

During DO Festival you can get a freshly cooked, vegan, gluten-free lunch at an affordable price. We cook the food right at the festival locations' facilities, buy the veggies at the green market around the corner and try to stick to seasonal dishes. In order to avoid any unnecessary trash we ask all participants to come with their own lunch boxes and cutlery. Works just fine!
